Dave Vieser

Dave Vieser has served in various media and media relations positions for nearly 40 years, working in both the public and private sectors. In these positions, he has developed a keen understanding of the how the media works, how to best track down and present vital information to a demanding audience – journalists, editors and broadcasters.

He is an accomplished writer as well as a former news broadcaster, sports analyst/play-by-play commentator, and host of Long Island’s Number one rated morning radio show.

Dave’s communications career began at WGBB (Freeport, New York) where he began as night DJ to and steadily progressed to prime time Morning Show Host and Assistant Program Director for the station. His ten year stint was in the days before cable TV, when AM radio was the major source of news and information for a growing Long Island suburban community (the regional population exceeds 3 million). It was during this time that he refined his broadcast news skills and developed extensive media contacts that he maintains to this day.

In 1976, Dave departed radio for the Long Island Rail Road / a unit of New York State Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA), the regional transportation operator. His primary assignment was manager of media information services, where Dave became acquainted with the inner most political and governmental operations of the world’s largest mass transit provider.

He rejoined the regional Long Island workforce in 1983, accepting the post of Press Secretary for the Town of Hempstead (reported to be the most populous township in the US, larger than many counties). Dave left the Town in 1987 for a similar position with Nassau County, where he stayed through 1999 until retiring from government service.

While in county government, Dave developed a reputation as a straight-shooter with the media, and was highly respected as a dependable and accurate news strategist and tactician.

Following his departure from the county, he served briefly as Editor of The Village Herald, and then for three years as Special Account Executive with Ryan PR in Farmingdale, NY.  He joined the Boerner Communications team in late-2007.

A graduate of Hofstra University (BA) and the New York Institute of Technology (MA), Dave services clients from his base at the Southeast Regional Office of Boerner Communications in Charlotte, NC. (He is also a special correspondent for The Charlotte Observer newspaper.)
